Dubai, UAE – An Emirati innovator, Mohamed Al Nuaimi, has been granted a US patent for his groundbreaking agroponic system, an advanced agricultural technology developed in the UAE. The patented system integrates aquaculture (fish rearing) with hydroponics (soil-less plant cultivation) in a sophisticated, computer-controlled environment. Pilot project results indicate yields of leafy greens approximately ten times higher than those from conventional farming, attributed to optimized nutrient conditions, high planting density, and consistent year-round production. This reliable multi-season performance addresses the challenges posed by extreme climatic conditions, ensuring a stable supply of produce and fish.
Furthermore, the system produces food that could be categorized as organic, aligning with the growing demand in the UAE for locally grown and sustainably produced products.
